Backpacks

A backpack solves the problem a crossbody cannot: weight on two shoulders instead of one. That matters past about three pounds, which is roughly a tablet, a water bottle and a wallet together.

The small ones in this department are purses that happen to have two straps, sized for a phone, a card holder and a light jacket. The travel packs are a different animal, with a padded sleeve, a luggage strap at the back and enough depth to hold a change of clothes.
